Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago yesterday (July 12th 2017) skipped a
gubernatorial debate organized by KTN. The debate which was slated to begin a
6PM only saw Kiprop Bundotich alias Buzeki showing up.

In a rather twist of events, reports have emerged that
Mandago skipped the debate for fear of getting exposed due to his oratory inadequacy.
This is contrary to a statement by the governors campaign team that he was
delayed by a plane from Nairobi due to bad weather. Reports circulating on
social media has it that Mandago has was holed in a hotel named Highlands in
Eldoret as his handlers follow the happenings at Boma Inn, the venue of the
debate. It is also said that Mandago had earlier asked the organizers of the
debate to reveal the questions but the organizers declined, a move that further
complicated Mandago’s situation.
Hon Mandago later showed up at Boma Inn around 10PM way
after the time slated for the debate. By this time most of the organizers and
his supporters had already left the venue disappointed. He only found a handful
of sleepy supporters who had no transport back home. A spot-check on various
joints in town and discussions online paint a picture of hugely disappointed
supporters who cannot understand why the governor failed to turn up for the
debate.
Buzeki on his part
bashed Mandago for ”fearing” to debate him. He called upon Uasin Gishu
residents to wisely choose leaders who can clearly lay out their plan for Uasin
Gishu.
